A major activity here is whitewater rafting on the river; "the longest continuous whitewater rafting in Colorado,"
according to one of the several adventure companies that organize such trips. In the summer rafting season, the highways, town,
and ice cream stores are jammed with young people focused on this type of recreation. For us, though, the trails near the river are sufficient.
