Patagonia: the name alone brings a mental image of a wild untamed land at the
farthest end of the Earth. Sailors knew the Drake Passage between South
America and Antarctica as the most inhospitable stretch of ocean in the world.

In truth, these images are correct but this land shared by Chile and Argentina
at the southern extreme of South America is also home to people creating a
good life for themselves in this remote area.

This trip explores the wild areas of Patagonia as well as the more "civilized"
areas of the region and includes the gateway cities of
Buenos Aires and Santiago.
