Walking past a school, the children recognized us as foreigners and gave us
an enthusiastic welcome.
We have seen the "V" sign made with the hands used as a greeting in
other places in Asia. In Vietnam, the V sign means "hello" possibly
since the Vietnamese word for the number "2" sounds like the
English pronunciation of the greeting "hi".
