The Punakha Dzong is especially striking.
A dzong (pronounced "zong") is a huge structure that dominates a town.
Originally built in the 1600's as fortifications and quarters for
regional governors, dzongs today are the secular and religious
administrative headquarters for each of Bhutan's 20 districts.
