This is a very old plant, it never amounted to anything, after a few years, we transplanted it in a better sunny place, in compost ... and nothing ever happened. Giving it a last chance before digging it and throwing it in the garbage pile, last Fall, we mixed in a big bag of chicken manure and waited for the Winter to go by. This summer, it grew into a giant for the first time ever! So chicken poop was the answer, who knew! It coincide with the best time for the strawberry season, great mix.

PS: Strange how the stock of the plant is great to eat, while the leaves are poisonous! Collect the leaves and cut them in smaller pieces, boil them in a big cauldron, the juice will make great ecologic pesticides for the gardens.
