Hubbard glacier is the longest tidewater glacier in Alaska stretching 6 miles wide and up to ~350 feet high. Conditions were so superb this day with glassy calm seas, crystal clear skies, and no wind, our captain was able to maneuver our cruise ship to within about 1000 feet. He reported this to be the closest a cruise ship had ever been to the glacier. To say the view was spectacular would be an understatement.

Great gallery! We went 2 years ago in Sept also and we also got lucky with a nice partly sunny day.... the glacier was calving a lot that day. Pics of our cruise are in my travel directory, if your interested.
