This used to be the Minner's union hall .The painting on the back wall is of Owens Lake now dry ! at one time it was over 450' deep. The Bessie Brady a steam boat was used to transport silver bars that were piling up on east side of the lake where it had been freighted down the hill from Cerro Gordo . The silver bars piled up on the eastern side waiting for the steam ship ! then again on the western shore waiting for the freight wagons to transport the the bars to Los Angeles . Sadly Cerro Gordo is gone along with the lake! we can only use our imagination of how it was .
