July 09 Tomato cage

Ok this all started because we found half eaten green tomatos on the vine so... to protect our tomatos I designed ,and hubby built, a tomato cage using materials we had on hand . 2x4's 1x2's and lath . built as modular panels and screwed together, they can be moved or added onto easily . A big plus is that the Bees can get in to pollinate but the Hawk Mouth can't so...we shouldn't have to deal with tomato worms. We'll be adding on to this tomato cage and turning it into a large summer Green house, so we can get most of the garden inside ! then ...when it gets cold we can staple heavy gage plastic over the lath and we should have Vegetables well into the winter ! we'll see how that workes out.
