Castle Clinton National Monument

Castle Clinton is a circular sandstone fort located in Battery Park. It is perhaps best remembered as America's first immigration station,
where more than 8 million people arrived in the United States from 1855 to 1890. Everyone knows that immigrants came through Ellis Island
to settle in America, but where did they go before that? The answer is Castle Garden, now known as the Castle Clinton National Monument.
