This is a view of Mt. Pinatubo from Clark USAF Base on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. This photo was taken in the early morning shortly before we returned to
Japan after a visit to the Philippines in 1979. Mt. Pinatubo erupted in 1991 and resulted in the complete destruction of Clark USAF Base.
