The hike was 19.8 miles with 8500 feet of elevation gain over Madison, Adams, Jefferson, Clay, Washington, Monroe, Franklin, Eisenhower and Pierce.
A wonderful accomplishment and a great time shared by 4 MOACers; Gerry Vaillancourt, Kathryn Vaznis, Don Hoverson (New to MOAC, the Presi Traverse being his first trip. Welcome Don!) and Kathy Baillargeon (organizer) and Papa Smurf (our protector for the day). We enjoyed great conversation, plenty of food breaks, candy corn and chocolate, met many new friends along the way, enjoyed some great views, perfect weather with clear skies, soup at the top of Washington, time spent on each peak, great photos (Thanks for the signs Don!), a sunset and full moon as we climbed our final mountain of the day - Pierce, and the opportunity to get great use out of our headlamps. We enjoyed ourselves so much we were well over book time at 18-hours. This was all done on 2-hours of sleep.
