Manassas 2009

Primarily shots of 2nd Manassas (Aug 28-30 1862) with a coulple of 1st Manassas (July 21 1861) shots. All pictures taken in August 2009. Much removal of trees has occured, especially in the 2nd Manassas battle area recently. In the past this area was mostly heavily wooded, giving one the idea that most of the fight occured in dense woods. That wasn't so. The National Park Service has gone to great lengths to clear the land and put it back to 1862 as much as possible. Much still needs to be done but the project is well underway. Many of the views here were simply unobtainable just last year.
