It's not a bird. But, it was waiting patiently to eat one!

Here's an interesting observation - while it looks like the Alligator is bad news for the birds, far more baby birds are taken by Otters, Racoons, and etc. than by Alligators. So, while the occasional bird falls and becomes lunch, the Alligator keeps the other predators away and thereby does the birds a service.
