I am not a mushroom expert, but I believe this to be a Parasol (Lepiota procera) mushroom. The underside gills are white, the stem has a ring that separates a white upper section from a darker lower section. The largest specimen is about 4 inches across. They appeared in September in Missouri at the base of a recently transplanted Chinese elm tree coming up through a layer of decorative rocks. Corrections are appreciated.
