Looking towards Lundy Island

In the foreground can be seen the remains of the Westward Ho! pier
Originally 600ft long it was damaged in 1871. In February 1880, the pier suffered further, serious damage and, because it had become ‘dangerous as well as unsightly’, it was demolished.
