As with the previous image, you have once again presented a recurring theme of cultural struggle, tradition vs. modernism and the effects of globalization. Does a country have to sacrifice its cherished traditions to make way for modern advancements? A thought provoking image, Tim.

A cultural incongruity -- contrasting symbols so typical of what is happening in a country caught between its past and its future. It reminds me in a way of an image I made a few weeks before you made this one when I was shooting in Hanoi. (http://www.pbase.com/image/91825378 ) You commented on how I boxed a Vietnamese worker between western symbols. Here, you have western cultural symbols seemingly chasing Vietnamese cultural symbols.
