Corporate Invaders
Great Wall of China, September, 2007

My daughter worked for Red Bull. Perhaps she could have gotten a gig in China. Is nothing safe from American commercialism?

I probably should add here that this little "stand" may be advertising Red Bull and may be selling it - I certainly could have used a shot of caffeine to walk the wall - but the stand itself seemed to be run by a woman who clearly needed to climb up a steep hill loaded with stuff to sell to the tourists - it seemed very local - not managed from a far away boardroom.

It's so ironic, the Great Wall was built to keep out the barbarian invaders, yet the money hungry multinational corporations that see China as a vast market to be milked have ensconced themselves.
