Once again, we each take the same subject and make our own stories out of it. My interpretation stresses the beach as negative space filled with tension, a border between the rhythms of sea and land. (http://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/80832536 ) You use all of that as background context for a study of plant life filling the bottom half of the image. You building your image on two bold layers -- plants and seashore, based on the contrast between two entirely different products of nature -- plants, and the seashore. I built mine around the rythmic horizontal thrusts of both land and sea playing against the vertical thrust of the beach. Once again -- we shoot the same subject, and come up with two entirely different stories. Together we demonstrate the infinite opportunities offered by expressive photography. It is not what we shoot that matters. Rather, it comes down to why we shoot it, and then how we choose to shoot it in order to say what we want say about it.
