To get from Los Angeles to the Central Valley you need to go through a mountain range. The road through it is called "The Grapevine" because before it was made into an interstate freeway it wound around the mountains like a grapevine. Snow is not common in the Grapevine, but there was a little flurry as I drove through it. Bakersfield is the first city north of the Grapevine. |
