No Water
Rhyolite, Nevada February 2007

As we arrived in Rhyolite at dawn, we found this sign lying in the sage.

You choose to juxtapose the sign in the foreground with the ruined town in the background, and depend on your title to give the sign its meaning. It is instructive to compare your approach to my own image of the same sign athttp://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/75092321 . I chose to give context for the ruined town in my caption and stressed the words on the sign and the desert plants as my subjects. What we have done here is to each tell the same story, yet do it entirely differently by reversing our point of emphasis and changing the context/subject relationship. There are many ways to skin a cat, indeed, in expressive photography. I love the mood and messag of your image, Tim.
