Thanks, Ruth, for looking and responding to this image - I must admit that I like the fact that the lack of a caption caused you to wonder about the events recorded in this image. This was taken in San Miguel de Allende during the days before the Day of the Dead celebration - I suspect that these two are going to the cemetery to decorate and clean-up a grave site, which is part of the ritual for Day of the Dead. I have a Day of the Dead Gallery: http://www.pbase.com/mityam/dayofdead05 which shows some of the results of the clean-up and decoration.

what a fascinating image...with no idea about the reasons behind the cemetery visit, the black binbag and the shovel only leads me to presume they are going to bury whatever it is that bag contains...i'm not sure what it is, but this image seems to have quite an upbeat feel to it, perhaps it's the light, perhaps it's that incongruous green bucket the boy has on his head (that in itself made me smile, reminds me of myself!), or perhaps it's the timing with which you've caught the feet in the air, all in all it makes it seem like this is a normal part of daily life. successful or not with my thoughts, i like this photo very much.
