The religious iconography of Mexico is earthy and emotional. By shooting this impassioned icon, its face wreathed in anguish, within the barred entry to a house, and framing it in colorful flowers that compliment the richly hued royal purple robe, you give us a series of incongruities that conveys the essence of this church-based society.
