Layers of Buddha - Vientiane

Much of the wrought iron work we saw was wonderful and photogenic. Phil has a great example at his Myanmar gallery: Botataung Gate, Yangon. I especially like this one because it represents, for me, the mystery of what I was seeing throughout the trip. I only had time and understanding to see the surface outline of the culture, as symbolized by the the wrought iron Buddha, but I could glimpse that there was a depth a beauty behind it that I have yet to understand.

It’s, indeed, layers of Buddha. The out focused gold Buddha add the context to this wrought iron work Buddha. Beautifully composited and bring out the sense of place.
