There is a traditional ceremony of good wishes and good luck which involves tying strings around the wrist and wishing good luck. We were lucky enough to visit a village where there was a wedding celebration. The bride was puzzled when I asked to take a picture of just her arm, but for me this summarized the spirit of the wedding party.
