I have a thing for angels, and this shot with her broken wing is quite melancholy. Your shot really makes us feel something here!

At first glance, this looks like just another cemetery angel, a very popular subject here on pbase. (I've even posted some myself.) But to work as expression, something has to be going on in the picture that goes beyond description to interpret the subject. This image works because of the broken wing. An angel is a symbol of immortality, yet this one has a definite handicap. It can no longer fly. Nature and time have made the immortal all too mortal here. And you were able to recognize that and interpreted it accordingly.
