I too love the translucence of the light through the beautiful pattern of veins of this leaf...interupted by the broken edge of some chewing insect...just indicating this part of the circle of the food chain. The shadow behind the leaf is also beautiful with your composition. I like it!
Translucence is among the most beautiful forms of light. The sun is passing through this dying leaf, revealing those delicate tracings that once gave it life but will no longer. You macro work is exceptional here, Tim. On one level, it is a breathtaking work of color and texture. On another, you offer us a metaphor for the work of nature itself.
