You are often drawn to American flags used as symbolism. This is one of your best -- the light passing through the flag gives it an all embracing glow. The play of light and shadow over the scene adds a contemplative mood. The way the flag is used -- draped as a bandana around the car's rear view mirror -- sums up your title perfectly.
