How this guy gets us all to think, imagine, and wonder about the meaning of a few raindrops on a dead leaf is a testament to his art and his power of observation.

Beauty is often found in the sad stuff, as Phil points out. To me this is not sad, but rather uplifting with the present nourishment of raindrops. They will not nourish this leaf but will help nourish the earth in turn.

For a moment you bring a lonely dead leaf to life with these wonderful colors and textures.

I almost jumped out of my chair when I saw this one, Tim. A magnificently colored lonely leaf bearing several less than lonely drops of moisture is indeed emblematic of how you so often feel about the natural world. Great beauty lies in the smallest of things. That leaf is dead, while the nurturing drops go to waste. Sad stuff.
