original FE 70-300G OOF-LED test for de-centering
This is a shot of a small light source from 40' away. Specifically it's of an LED shining into a hollow dome of aluminum foil with a 1.5mm 'pin prick' to mimic a point source.
This was taken wide open at 300mm with my original Sony FE70-300G. It was manually focused to its minimum distance to provide a maximum out-of-focus image. Given that this is perfectly circular it suggests that there are no de-centered elements.
However, this lens did have excessive field tilt and that ill does not manifest itself in this test. The lens ultimately was replaced.
