I bought this '74 FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser new in the summer of 1973(?) and had an enormous amount of fun 4-wheeling for 10 years.
It was mostly a stock vehicle with larger tires and wheels (w/ rear-wheel cutout and flares), a slightly raised suspension, ultra heavy-duty shocks, steering damper, and aftermarket header w/ an over-the-frame exhaust system.
This is one tough vehicle, although here in upstate NY you could watch it rust on a lunch break and this iteration engine pretty much required aftermarket stellite valves and seats.
