Softproofed CS.jpg

This is a reasonably accurate representation of the screen changes that take place when properly softproofing and how the original screen (Nominal CS) version will print similar to the Softproofed screen.
The most obvious difference here is a slightly duller image. Note the skin tones in the face. If anything this simulation downplays this difference.
I find that at the very least a ‘Brightness/Contrast’ tweak is generally needed before printing and usually a ‘Vibrance’, ‘Gamma’ and/or subtle color shifts are needed.
As printer/paper color spaces more closely match the original image’s wider gamut we will have less problems. This image was softproofed on an Epson R800 and my 'one generation inkset' newer R1900 is substantially better in some areas.
