Millipede (Apheloria polychroma)

Came across this large millipede on my return hike from Crooked Run.
A review of millipedes tells me this one is very toxic - cyanide

That's a nice colorful millipede, giving predators a warning to leave it alone. Nice find and photo.

Seems odd being out and about during the day. Perhaps it is too toxic for a bird or mammal to eat.
