Sanderlings

Cabot Trail, Dingwall, NS, Canada

While staying at The Markland Coastal Beach Cottages in Dingwall, NS, I walked the stony beach and came upon these busy and timid Sanderlings.
Originally ID'ed these as Semipalmated Sandpipers - changed ID to Sanderlings per eBird reviewer (David McCorquodale) request.

You're in the right place to start seeing the migration of shore birds. They mass along the beaches of NS. Great photo of this flock.
