Red-bellied Woodpecker (Immature)

Skyline Drive, Front Royal, Va

This part of Skyline Drive - Dickey Ridge - is of particular interest to me for birding.
During weekdays, I usually find it void of crowds - and, there is something about the elevation (cooler air) that draws me there.
I really enjoy seeing immature local birds.
