Oriole Nest

Lake Frederick, Virginia

This nest is high in a Sycamore tree at the public boat dock at Lake Frederick. It's composed mostly of black plastic (from a discarded tarp) and discarded fishing line. A sad state of fair in my opinion.

A very interesting observation, on the one hand ingenuity on the part of the oriole, on the other, a sad comment on the amount of discarded and often dangerous material, birds have to confront.

That is sad the nest materials are garbage and especially the fishing line which is dangerous to wildlife.
