Golden star (Chrysogonum virginianum)

Lake Frederick, Virginia

Several of these in the area I was trying to get Baltimore Oriole observations. This wildflower is @ 8 inches high; has multiple blooms off a single branching stalk; alternate toothed leaves; bloom < 2". Thanks to Bill Moore for the ID.
