Eastern Bluebird (Immature)

Warrenton, Virginia

Three of eight bluebird boxes produced bluebird chicks that occasionally show themselves in the trees around our Warrenton yard. This one was curious when I pointed the lens in its direction.
I have two bluebird boxes with House Sparrows; lots of territorial disputes; I've mixed emotions about evicting House Sparrows, but I'm warming up to the idea.

I had to take down all my swallow boxes except the one under the eaves because of the House Sparrows and a house wren breaking eggs and killing chicks. Evicting them is too nice! Nice photo, by the way.
