Yellow-breasted Chat

Warrenton, Virginia

In maple tree over Cedar Run about a mile from our Warrenton home.
This is my best shot after three hot days waiting for him to come up and "chat", but I haven't given up hope for a better capture.
A long way out; had the spotting scope at 50x, camera at 2.5x; edited with PSE, then Capture NX2.
Best viewed in 'original' size.

An interesting bird. Obviously no close relative to our Australian chats. Great effort!

Great shot and effort to make the image capture using your scope, Don. Always enjoy studying the other elements in your frame and composition - in this case how your subject is placed among the tree limbs. I know you don't have too much control over those type of details but seem to have them in many of your photos. Your bird subjects obviously know a few elements of composition and cooperate with you in the field!! Nicely done
