Bombax Tree Flowering

Nokomis, Florida

We stopped at Nokomis Groves to pick up citrus fruits on our way back to St Petersburg. The grove had lots of these trees surrounding the parking lot.

Maybe this is Bombax ceiba, the Kapok Tree, which is native to semi-deciduous "rainforests" of northern Australia.
