Golden-crowned Kinglet

Warrenton, Virginia

For me, a real challenge getting a sharp image of these guys with Nikon's D800 because they are so small and quick!
I picked this shot because it shows the main field markings that differ from the Ruby-crowned Kinglet - "face mask" and yellow crown.
Best viewed in 'original' size.

I agree - very challenging to shoot these little jumping beans. I can count on one hand how many shots I have of kinglets. Setting is lovely for this capture/
