Dad's father, Fred (aka Fritz), front center, was the only one to change the name spelling to Minzner. Pronounciation remained the same. Left to right: great-Grandfather Rudolph, Otto, Annie, Paul, Clara, George, Grandfather(Fred), Mary, great-Grandmother Amelia(Theurich), Elizabeth (aka Lizzy).
Rudolph, born 1846 in Saxony (now part of Germany), died 1929 in Clinton, Mass., served in Franco-Prussian War,1870. Amelia born 1843 in Saxony, died 1913 in Clinton. First child, Paul, born 1869 in Saxony. The three emigrated to the U.S. in 1872 through New York harbor, traveled to Clinton where a brother of Rudolph lived and where George was born one week later, becoming the first U.S. native-born Muenzner. Rudolph and Amelia had 10 children, including 2 stillborn. Dad's father, Fred, the seventh clild, was born 1880 in Clinton, married Martha Eidam in 1901 in Lawrence, Mass., died 1929 in Lake Saranac, N.Y., buried in Belmont, Mass. He changed Muenzner to Minzner sometime before 1905.
