This is a portrait of my father-in-law when I saw him last in India. He was in his early 90s. I have found and you will I believe agree that when a picture is taken with some feeling or emotion somwhow that degree of your intensity is conveyed to the viewer. Many masters of the image making suggest what I have said above.
Almost evey picture of mine that others have appreciated and responded with positive feedback was taken by me with some intense feel for the subject.
