Asian tsunami relief efforts

Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia (Jan. 14, 2005) – Sailors from USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) Carrier Strike Group (CSG) carry supplies to an awaiting helicopter at the Sultan Iskandar Muda Air Force Base, Banda Aceh. The supplies will be distributed throughout the coastline region to aid the victims of the South East Asia Tsunami. Aircraft and personnel assigned to Carrier Air Wing Two (CVW-2) aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) and Expeditionary Strike Group Five (ESG-5) aboard USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), are supporting Operation Unified Assistance the humanitarian effort in the wake of the Dec. 26 tsunami that struck South East Asia.
