Wow! What a great photo! I'm just learning about red-wing blackbirds after visiting my Mom in WV on her overgrown farm that she barely keeps up with at 87. I don't think I have ever seen them so prolific and enjoyed learning to identify their call. Many of them come to Mom's "bird tree" on the front porch--what I read that the females do not come to feeders proved true at Mom's. Many were calling from the tops of trees that border the meadow and creek/marshy area as I walked to get the mail. Mom lives a mile from everybody! :-) I want to get pictures, too!
