Locomotive No. 1, the "Leland Stanford", named for the man who was simultaneously
president of the Central Pacific Railroad AND governor of California. It was good to be
a robber baron back in the day, when mundane things like conflict-of-interest
laws were apparently not an issue. Politicians today would be drooling. . . .
