Shutter speed wasn't a problem, but depth of field was a challenge with a manual focus 200-500mm on the V1. . . .

Nikon 1 V1 ,Tamron SP AF 200-500mm f/5-6.3 Di LD (IF)
1/800s f/11 at 240mm (650mm angle of view)
iso400 w/ FT1 adapter full exif

I don't see any DOF problem here. I bet the camera looks funny hanging off that lens though
