Didn't like the light in the color version, so I converted it to B&W. . . .

El Capitan is on the left, and Bridalveil Fall (620 ft. high) is on the right.

WOW this is BEAUTIFUL. BV Falls is sure gushing. One of the things Ansel did with a shot like this was make the sky super dar. It was one of his sort of trademarks. That would probably work well with this shot since the sky is sort of non descript

I was there last weekend and boy was it interesting. I know you said you didn't like the color version, but I'd still be interested to see it. The B&W version hides a little bit of the fact that there's still SNOW (in May?!) all over the mountains! Still, this is a beautiful shot and the B&W works well here, especially if the light was as bad as you say.
