Ft. Point is found at the foot of the Golden Gate bridge on the southeast (San Francisco) side of the bridge.
The first fortification built at this location was in 1753.
The cliff was cut down and Ft.Point built in 1853. It is a partial replica of Ft. Sumter, and is the only brick fort west of the Mississippi.
The stone seawall has stood undamaged for over 150 years.
