This is our jewel here in Montreal. First big building in the sixties. It was the biggest one in that time in the Commonwealth countries.
You must think why I put this picture here in the Montreal Underground galery? Because in the beginning of the sixties, during the construction of this building, they did the construction under it, of the beginning of the "Underground". Place Ville-Marie was the center of it, the beginning of it. After the years, few buildings were under construction and they make tunnels to join the Place Ville-Marie. Under Place Ville-Marie that time, they had few boutiques and we can walk around. The cost of the construction of that building was $100 millions dollards in the beginning of the sixties. In "87", they changed all the windows to get better windows to fight the rought winters we have here. The price: $100 millions! Same price of the construction of Place Ville-Marie. Place Ville-Marie is the fourth higher buildings in Montreal.
