Lots of complex carpentry to make all of the individually customized brackets to support the river bed along the entire peninsula. The fascia is a two part sandwich comprised of Masonite cut to extend and cover the 2" supports under the riverbed and rise to a quarter inch above the riverbed plywood. This forms the dam for the plaster pour for the riverbed bottom. It gets screwed to the ends of the supports.
Next, another strip of Masonite gets cut a quarter inch wider than that, and is glued smooth side out for a seamless, no fastener fascia. Rough side gets glued to rough side for a good bond. Things like 2-port UTP panels and some controls get recessed into this fascia.
